Pride Month

From all of us here at Incentive Counselling, Happy Pride!

As Pride Month draws to a close, we want to take a moment to encourage you to take pride in who you are every single day. Whether you are out and proud or still figuring out your personal journey, you deserve to be celebrated.

Take Care of Yourself on Your Journey

In light of Pride Month, we want to talk about the importance of taking care of your mental health. Our
counsellors are here to support you through difficult life transitions, relationship conflicts, family issues,
and poor mental health. To that end, we offer in-person and online counselling – so no matter where you are or your
comfort level, our counsellors are here for you. For more information or to get started, contact us:

Do things that have a positive impact on your mental health.

Aside from counselling, there are many small life changes or activities to add to a daily routine that can
have a positive impact on our mental health. Some people may enjoy going for a walk; others may find
that making time for video games helps them feel better. Regardless of what you already enjoy, try adding at least one of the following to your routine at least once a week:
 Listen to your favourite podcast or audiobook
 Watch a movie
 Spend time outside
 Join an exercise class
 Read a new book
 Practice mindfulness
 Start a gratitude journal
 Write daily affirmations
 Meditate
 Play video games
 Do a puzzle
 Draw, paint, and get creative
 Learn a new recipe
 Have a spa night
 Have coffee with a friend

Check out the resources that are available!

Finally, there are resources and LGBTQ+ groups in British Columbia and nationwide available to support
you. Your mental health is key – so whether it’s counselling, self-care activities, support groups, or a
combination of all of those things, we encourage you to take care of your health in the best way for you!
