We offer sessions using the secure online platform provided in our scheduling program, Jane.  Jane is a company based out of Vancouver and according to Canadian regulations, stores all information securely in Canada.  You can be confident that your information is not going to 3rd parties and that the video conferencing provided through Jane is private and secure.

Beginning an online session

At the start of the session, your counsellor will check in with you to review the last session. This check in provides you and your counsellor an opportunity to discuss if you tried any strategies learned from the last session.  If so, your counsellor will encourage to discuss the details of this effort to determine what worked well, and perhaps, what didn’t.

During your session

During the session, your counsellor will be listening to you and provide feedback, advice, or suggestions based on the information you give. Your counsellor may also teach you cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) strategies or use other evidence-based practices to help you identify patterns of thinking contributing to negative feelings and behaviors.

Concluding your session

At the end of the session, your counsellor will provide recommendations or resources that you can use to help manage your mental health.  Your therapist may also suggest activities and lifestyle changes that can help improve your overall well-being. Additionally, a client and therapist that have been working together actively for some time will also typically have active check-ins to ensure goals are being met over time.
